@ToxicFriu, @AshTheDreamer You must collaborate on how each of you will move forward with the prompt.  If you require my assistance or have questions you may ask them here.
Be certain that you submit your prompt endeavours (Group Overview) as a reply to this thread by the end of November 4th.  You may have a single member of the group post your Group Overview.
If you fail to post your Group Overview before the deadline there will be no blessings for you for this prompt.

A bone clattering chuckle floated from the maw of the skull faced Swamp Deity. It was laced with amusement and a hint of bitterness as he considered the recent developments in their world.
The most annoying thing, the stallion found, was the fact that his shadow magic wasn’t working like it should. It was so mundane to travel by hoof, and while he had six instead of the usual four it didn’t mean he went any faster in this damp, vine laden section of the swamp. It took some of the fun out of the job; appearing from the shadows and startling Quirlicorns in his Swamp was definitely a form of amusement for the stallion.
Keir shook his head as he came to a particularly tangled area. It’s not like Keir never walked through the swamp, but really, this dip in the deities' magic was irksome! The great black stallion flicked his reptilian tail, before moving to walk around the large tangle of vines. He would be quite glad when everything was back to normal.
But what if this was the new normal? What if things never went back to how they were? Keir pondered that for a moment before shrugging to himself. Well, if this was the new normal, then he would just have to employ some of his other tricks. Keeping a positive attitude was something he was trying out. Perhaps he could play tricks on swamp travelers that way, being obnoxiously positive and upbeat. After a moment of consideration, Keir discarded the idea for now.
There was mischief to be had. It was a serious situation, yes. But that didn’t mean that the Quirlicorns who answered his summons were immune from the Swamp Deities bag of tricks.

Moving silently, Keir approached the meeting place, and found a good hiding spot among the vines, leaves, and bog water. He had picked a fitting place for the sacrifices… er, volunteers to arrive. It was the remains of a temple of sorts, the once white marble covered with moss and vines, yellowed by time. Where the floor had been was a bit of a mess - part of it had sunk into the marshy ground, and the rest was cracked and a bit unstable. What remained of an altar sat in the middle, strange suspicious stains upon the top. The one remaining brazier was lit, the flames made green by burning certain minerals with it. All in all, an eerie spectacle awaited the helpers of the deities.

The one who arrived first was a violet mare, with a black mane and tail. She seemed by Keir’s standards to be pretty normal, but there was something about her stance that made Keir wonder if she would be a good verbal sparring companion. Sarcasm was an art, after all.
The other one…. Keir felt a moment of joy as the other Quirlicorn arrived. By looks, the other mare was something that spoke to Keir’s love of strange swamp things. And a Plague Quirlicorn to boot!
Oh, this was going to be fun, Keir thought to himself.

The Swamp Deities signature cackle seemed to echo around the two mares, moments before he slunk from the shadows. Not as dramatic as appearing straight between them, but it would have to do.
“You two. Something is up with magic, and there is something unnatural going on in the Swamp. Figure it out,” Keir said, clacking his teeth together to punctuate the statement. “Good luck,” Keir added, although it sounded more like a warning than a true wish for luck.
With no other instruction, he wandered back into the swamp.

Prompt: “You are tasked to discover what strange thing may be occurring in the Swamp”

I'd find it rather unwise to dismiss me in such a way.

As you investigate the Swamp, magic seems to notice you. It is almost as if you are being watched as you work on your investigation. But any time you turn to look, there is nothing there. It doesn't quite feel like the Swamp Deity's tricks; it feels more ancient, more knowing. As if the source of magic itself is staring you down.
Magic both feels weaker and stronger. As you get closer to the center of the swamp, it seems the magic is pulling at you, urging you to come closer. It seems playful, drawing you in, swirling around you then dashing away toward the center.
As you follow the magic, you find yourself facing what seems to be a familiar yet strange sapling. It is unlike any other tree in the swamp, but something about it draws the magic to it. Despite its strange appearance, you get the feeling that something isn't quite right. Looking closer, you notice an object embedded within the roots.

Keir took a rattling breath, looking around the swamp. Those two had been gone for a while. The particular looking one gave him a strange vibe. Were they even looking? Really, he expected results. This whole thing was messing with his vibe.
His normal tricks were not up to par, and everything was quite... Irritating. With determination and a bit of irritation, the Swamp Deity set off to find out where the two Quirlicorns who had come to help were.
Keir felt a strange pull as he walked, and noticed there was something strange going on with magic. As he got closer, a surge of magic hit him, and he immediately warped into the shadows, racing across the swamp toward where the pull came from.
"There you are!" Keir exclaimed, stepping from the shadows where the magic was pulling from, only to find the very Quirlicorns he was looking for. "Really, what is taking so long? What about the dragons? This investigation...." He trailed off as he saw the sapling. "What is that?"
Keir moved closer, ignoring Gluttony and Shadow. He circled the sapling, then looked at the strange object at its roots. Curiosity tried to drive him forward, but caution held him back. The deities had no idea what they were dealing with, which was strange for them. He didn't want to risk it.
The sapling seemed like it was trying to grow, but something was holding it back... perhaps the object? It seemed a strange form of dark magic, perhaps. Not magic like his own darker flavor, but something.... out of the ordinary.
"You two," Keir said, turning back to his minions.... er, helpers. If a skull faced Quirlicorn could have a maniacal smile, Keir certainly did.
"I have a new task for you. Figure out how to get that... whatever it is out of this trees roots. The magic wants you here for some reason.So... Get to it!" Keir said, with complete disregard for the quest he had previously sent the Quirlicorns on. This seemed infinitely more interesting, and is what Keir suspected was true... well then infinitely more important.
"Glad to know the investigation we did is important," Shadow said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Keir stepped closer, his towering frame dwarfing the mare, and snapped his teeth together inches from her face. The shadows around him grew stronger, fueled by the magic lingering in the area. They flowed out like tendrils, drifting along the ground... and then suddenly dissolved.
Gluttony stepped forward, swallowing.... Well Keir wasn't certain he wanted to know what that strange mare was eating.
Looking at the two mares glaring at him, Keir sighed. “The investigation helped us get to this point. It must have stirred up the magic, and the magic brought us here for this reason. Fix. The. Tree.
“I need to confer with the other deities. Get whatever that is out of the tree by the time I’m back.. And don’t hurt or eat the tree!” Keir said, slipping into the shadows, a haunting laugh following his departure.

Prompt: You are tasked to figure out how to safely remove the object embedded in the tree roots.

The object Keir points out has peaked Gluttony's interest. Stepping forward she leans down to get a better look at it before an idea forms in her head. The mare turns to the water and throws her tail into it until she feels the object she's looking for. With a wide grin a small rib cage is pulled from the depths. She ties it to her tail admiring it for a split second before moving her tail around so as to use the pointy ends of the bones to poke at the object Keir had pointed out. Hopefully this could safely knock it out. If this didn't work maybe she could use her long tongue?

Dear young one, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but where is your partner?

Shadow looks around, lost for ideas. Finally, she sees a big stick and thinks it may be the best tool she can find to try and dig the item out. Normally, she would try using her fangs to unlodge the item, but with the magic the way that it is, she is afraid of what might happen.
