Welcome to the Plains Region! With open grassland, beautiful sunsets, and friendly neighbors, the Plains Region is quite the welcoming place! Whether you would like to make connections on your journey, find a place to call home, or just bother Jagmeet (Looking at you, Shaakir), there is plenty to be found in the Plains Region!
While the Plains Region looks like flat grasslands and savannahs, there is a hidden world of caverns and tunnels beneath the land waiting to be explored! Make sure to take some form of navigation and light though, you don’t want to get lost! The wide grasslands are a dream for those who take after the deity of the region and enjoy a nomadic lifestyle.
The Plains Region shares borders with 4 other regions. The land along the border varies between each region.
Icy Border: As you approach the Icy Border, the first thing you notice is the chill to the air. Grasses become tougher, and the lush vegetation of the Plains seems to fade to frosted, simple plant life. The drainage is not as good in the tundra areas as it is in the plains, and as a result there are often pools of stagnant water (drink at your own risk).
Windy Border: Approaching the Windy Border, the first thing one notices is the rise in elevation. For a while it just seems like one big hill with a forest slowly opening around you. One you get high enough, the ground becomes more rocky, leading to the cliffs commonly seen through the Windy Region. The land is lush and fertile, the canopy of the trees obscuring most of the sky.
Swamp Border: The plains slowly become more saturated with water, with many ponds and pools. The land begins to resemble a marsh more than the plains. As you get closer to the Swamp Region, some trees begin to grow. Closest to the swamp are tall cypress trees creating the edges of the cypress swamp.
Mountains Border: The closer to the mountains you get, the hillier the land. The ground becomes more rocky, and trees and shrubbery begin to become more common. Soon, tall trees surround you, framed by the towering mountains in the distance.
