General Group Updates
Fall Equinox and HOF Events
Later on this month we’ll be celebrating the Equinox and another Hand Of Fate event. Both will be posted on the Equinox (22nd) in our forums, so be sure to keep an eye out there for them. Both will be posted in our Official Quirlicorn Events Forum which you can also easily subscribe to so you don’t miss out.
Ideally, we’d like to host a day of giveaways in our Discord server on the Equinox as well. We are currently unsure if Admin schedules will line up well for that yet or not but we’ll keep you all updated in our server on this as well.
On September 15th we’ll also launch a Friends Of Frysil Event.
Log/Registration Conversions
So far conversions have went pretty smoothly and our conversion admins have been able to keep on top of them so they have been processed quickly.
If you still have Quirlicorns you haven’t converted yet there’s no better time than the here and now to send those in.
Starting this month we intend to slowly transition some of our conversion admins to other areas which means that in the long term we will cut back on the amount of conversion admins we have available as conversions become more rare.
For this reason, if you are able to submit conversion threads now rather than later, it would benefit everyone by allowing your conversions to be processed in a timely manner while also not overloading the conversion admin(s).
If you are unable to convert now, be it that you maybe don’t have the time or energy to submit conversion threads right now, it’s perfectly okay to wait until you are better able to submit them. Conversions will remain with the breed until the time when it is no longer needed, so ultimately it is entirely up to you when you choose to convert your Quirlicorns.
Imports, Foals, Customs
Over the years we’ve seen a bit of confusion over the difference between imports and foals.
The names are definitely a little bit misleading especially when we have two different types of imports in our breed. (regular imports/customs and those imported from other breeds or OCs)
Anyone who isn’t already familiar with HARPG tends to struggle a bit with this terminology, understandably.
We have renamed our Log forums from Imports to Starters in and effort to help cut back on some of the confusion calling them Imports was causing.
Quirlicorns which were imported from another breed or OCs will remain to be considered Imports, while customs will be called Starters.
Foals are a bit trickier and we opted to keep the name Foals for them even if that isn’t necessarily the best term either. Many “Foals” are actually not foals at all, instead are full grown Quirlicorns. For the sake of not changing too much too fast, we’ll put more effort on education that Foals are called Foals because they were bred by two Quirlicorns (making them foals at conception).
If this terminology continues to cause confusion moving forward, we’ll revisit the idea of renaming Foals also.
DA Group
We’ve updated our DA groups front page and removed outdated links while adding focus on our website.
We are however still accepting submissions on DA. If you are uploading your Quirlicorn art on DA please do continue submitting it to the group so that we can see all of the awesome art you’re making of your characters.
There’s been a definite lack or disconnect with the art side of things by moving to the website, so we want to keep your Quirlicorn art fix going if at all possible. Currently the best way to do this is to have you continue posting your art on DA and sharing it via the group.
We are still actively moderating submissions to the group on DA and only relevant folders remain open for submission.
Realms Forum
Earlier last month we added a Realms Forum in our World Building section for Quirlicorns who own land to post about their land and allow others to visit etc.
This is a dedicated forum to help with world building that is specific to the pieces of land on our official map.
We encourage everyone who owns land to create a profile for it in our new Realms Forum and for everyone else to check it out as well to see if they want to get involved.
All Deities will eventually have their plots of land added there as well for added interactions with each of them.
