In the Quirliverse there is much magic to be found and many different types have yet to be discovered. Every month a new Magic will bless foals and starters ‘born’ for that month with a special gift.
Population incentives are geared towards giving you fun reasons to grow your Quirlicorn herds (as if we all don’t already have problems with hoarding pixel ponies already, right?!). These incentives will run for the full month they are posted for and the goodies will apply to both foals bred and customs ordered.
2024
Happy 2024!
Quirlicorns for January 2024 will have the option to ring in the new year with a touch of red on their coats to add some luck and prosperity to their lives.
Red may come in the form of mimicking a Quirlicorn mutation that isn’t present genetically but in shades of red (red inkheart markings, starling design but in reds, etc) or it may be added as markings, the base coat or accessories. All shades of red accepted ranging from super light pink, to nearly black red.
Valentine’s Day is near and Cupid has left his arrows near the Sacred Dew Tree. For the month of February 2023 Quirlicorns bred or imported will receive 3 of Cupids arrows. Each arrow adds an additional breeding slot to the Quirlicorn which may be used to breed the Quirlicorn to the Quirlicorn the arrow was used on. Cupids arrows may only be used on Group horses. Happy 2023! It appears that this months magic is full of scrambles! Genes on new starters or foals display as something they are not. For example, white genes could display as dun, or the rainbow mutation could display as polar etc. These Quirlicorns phenotypes and genotypes will not match up!
One gene may display as another and no additional ‘genes’ may be added on. For example Ee aa nRb nMoo (Black Rabicano Solstice) could look like ee AA nR nBzz (red roan Apoidea) or Ee AA nP SplSpl PoPo nFrs nCock (Pangare Bay Splash Polar Frost Rooster) could look like EE aa nD LpLp HaHa nSx nBot (Grullo Appaloosa Samhain Saxeus Botany)

If you do not wish to have the rainbow gene added please specify when you submit your breeding or custom claim, otherwise we’ll automatically add it.

For some time now the Sacred Dew Tree has been smitten with the stars in the heaven’s, in particular the zodiac constellations. For this months incentive the tree is granting all new Quirlicorn starters and foals the gift of the zodiac. Quirlicorns with this incentive may display qualities of their chosen Zodiac like Lion manes for Leo’s or Scorpion tail for Scorpios, etc. These Quirlicorns may also wear the night sky with their chosen constellation over their base coats (paint markings will cover the night sky).

Bones may become visible without the use of a Cursed Dew. Transparency of your Quirlicorn may be lowered without the Spectral gene present. Please keep in mind though that while we allow and even encourage creativity with your designs, with this months incentive we ask that you keep your Quirlicorns generally recognizable as the breed.

Tails distorted into a small tuft of fluff, horns now antlers, swirls and quirls optional. The cause of this is still uncertain, but we speculate that the solstice’s magic is at work here, so take advantage of it while you can! For this months incentive any Quirlicorns bred or imported may add antlers of any type and or deer like tails in place of the standard Quirlicorn horns and/or tails.

Welcome to the new year everyone! We hope to start this one off with a lot of fun. Guardians are newly released and now is your chance to get one completely effortlessly! January’s magic Conjures one Guardian of your choice to any Quirlicorn bred or Imported this month. Please note that Guardians are attached to a single horse and for this months incentive they come attached to the horse you breed or are importing. Guardians may not be transferred to another horse. When sending in your breeding or custom thread this month, please include the Guardian type you want for your Quirlicorn. As always, monthly incentives are completely voluntary so if you do not wish to add a Guardian to your Quirlicorn just let us know and we’ll skip that part for you.

Oh oh! Someone wasn’t careful and set off fireworks near the Sacred Dew tree. With magic still lingering in the area from the Solstice, a new magic is born. Fireworks have merged with the lingering magic giving all new Quirlicorns bred or imported during July 2022 the option of displaying these minor firework interactions. Firework powder may be stuck to the Quirlicorns hairs over their entire body. Extreme heat may set them off, giving effects that range from minor sparkles, to larger firework type displays launching from their bodies. Hooves may create sparks when they walk over harder rougher surfaces like stone or asphalt. These Quirlicorns are entirely fire resistant (whew!), set them on fire and let them be the life of the party! … or maybe don’t set them on fire purposely, it doesn’t seem very nice. This incentive may grant Quirlicorns with it Fire Immunity Magic.
Emoji Madness! For the month of March 2022 all starter or bred Quirlicorns ‘born’ will have the option to add a floating Emoji above their head or back. Emojis may reflect the Quirlicorns current mood or state of mind by changing with it, or it may be a single emote that never changes.

Weird weather has been an ongoing topic that isn’t likely to change anytime soon. As we’ve been seeing extreme weather, so has the Quirliverse. For the month of July 2021, the Sacred Dew Tree is blessing Quirlicorns customs and foals with weather themed coats and/or weather surrounding the Quirlicorn. These Quirlicorns have the innate ability to mimic visual weather effects. Things like rain trailing behind them, soggy/wet hoof prints, a small sun like orb that follows them (perhaps even orbits around them), can make clouds or haze effects around them. Snowfall, hailstones, lightning, sun rays through clouds, tornadoes, leaves on the wind, frosted glass, steamy breath, etc.
Quirlicorns with this incentive can pick one weather type for the design. While animated effects surrounding the Quirlicorn may change to some extent, you can not choose snow and then have it change to something sunny for example.
Anevay’s chaotic Summer Solstice event has definitely disrupted and confused magic a bit in the Quirliverse. For the month of August the Sacred Dew Tree will be offering each Custom or Foal one regional magic of choice. The magic chosen from this months incentive does not have to be from the Quirlicorns own region. Astral region magics are exempt from this incentive however.
Magic should be chosen at the time of design approval. Simply add a note of which magic you are choosing for your Quirlicorn to go with this months incentive.
With summer coming to an end the Sacred Dew Tree is blessing new Quirlicorns for the month of September 202 the option to have both winter and summer coats. One coat for the summer and one coat for the winter, much like polar animals. Quirlicorns with this incentive may have 2 different coats which may have two different colors (one for each seasonal coat). Markings should remain the same for either seasons coat however, extensions of markings are allowed (think of polar animals having more white in the winter or having minimal appaloosa in one coat and max appaloosa in the other). These coats must still match their genotype and type of quirlicorn.

This month magic in the Quirliverse has been a bit off and on for mysterious reasons. Naturally this also affects the monthly incentive.
Quirlicorns with this months incentive have problems keeping their magic within their bodies. This means as they earn or unlock magic the magic attaches to the outside of the bodies.
For example, a Quirlicorn with Geo-Thermokinesis might have lava covering its coat or hair. A Quirlicorn with Hydrokinesis might have water flowing over their coat or hair at all times.
Magics which aren’t visible like empathy, telepathy, zoolingualism, etc would have no affect on the Quirlicorns appearance, however these magics may misfire or glitch.

Welcome to the new year everyone! We hope to start this one off with a lot of fun. Companions are newly released and now is your chance to get one completely effortlessly! January’s magic Conjures one Companion of your choice to any Quirlicorn bred or Imported this month. Please note that Companions are attached to a single horse and for this months incentive they come attached to the horse you breed or are importing. Companions may not be transferred to another horse. When sending in your breeding or importing note this month please include the Companion type you want for your Quirlicorn. As always, monthly incentives are completely voluntary so if you do not wish to add a Companion to your Quirlicorn just let us know and we’ll skip that part for you.
Happy February everyone, the month of love is upon us! Whether you’re interested in celebrating Valentines Day this year or not, all Quirlicorns bred or imported this month will be blessed with an additional 2 breeding slots just in time to get down on Vday! Quirlicorns bred or imported this month will start with 8 Breeding slots instead of the traditional 6. This month’s magic is one that keeps giving. Once your Quirlicorns bred or imported during this months incentive level up and unlock additional slots, they unlock an additional 2 slots again. At 100 Chimes they will unlock 8 slots. At 400 Chimes they will unlock 8 slots.
Happy March everyone, this month we’ll be celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Young Quirlicorns gather round the Sacred Dew Tree to hear Dr. Seuss books read to them. For the month of March, in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday The Sacred Dew Tree has helped to provide extra magic to allow Quirlicorns bred or imported this month will have the option to display Dr. Seuss inspired designs from head to toe. Truffala tree tails are also welcome this month. Feel free to be creative, as long as your design fits the Dr. Seuss theme, all goes.
Happy April everyone, Spring is in the air! This month rabbits seem to be gathering around the Sacred Dew Tree. Aside from them laying some colorful eggs, it appears as though the Sacred Dew Tree has used its magic once more so that that Quirlicorns imported or bred this month may have rabbit ears and/or tails. If you’re feeling a little bit crazy, you may also allow bred or imported Quirlicorns from this month to lay colorful eggs, celebrating Spring in style, or something like that. 
All new Quirlicorns bred or imported during May 2019 will be Bidirectional Sex Changers. Gender may be changed at will by the owner at any time. This means they can easily breed to horses of either gender without the use of a Heaven’s Wish Dew.
All new Quirlicorns bred or imported during May 2019 will be given a ‘Gf’ attached to their ID# in order to help us identify Quirlicorns as Biodirectional Sex Changers for breeding purposes.
All new Quirlicorns bred or imported during June 2019 will be allowed to have designs based on or including flowers. This means coats may take on colors and patterns found in flowers and/or flowers may grow from the Quirlicorns.
As an additional bonus, and in celebration of Pride Month All Quirlicorns bred or imported during June 2019 may get a free recessive Rainbow gene (nRbw) and any same sex breedings may happen without the use of a Heaven’s Wish Dew.
All new Quirlicorns bred or imported during July 2019 will be allowed to have designs based on or including fireflies/lightning bugs. These Quirlicorns may be glowy from the inside, anywhere on the inside. Alternately we’ll also allow designs depicting a dusk or night sky with flireflies/lightning bugs in the scenery. Since Quirlicorns are full of magic the Glow may be any color and glow may be on or off, it’s completely up to you.
All new Quirlicorns bred or imported during August 2019 will be allowed to have designs based on dragonflies. These Quirlicorns may also have dragonfly tails and/or wings (dragonfly tail may replace the regular Quirlicorn tail and dragonfly wings may be added before or without needing to unlock them via Chime points).
All new Quirlicorns bred or imported during September 2019 will be allowed to pick one previous Monthly Population Incentive to stand in as this months incentive. January 2019’s incentive is exempt from this as are the additional bonus’ (nRbw, same sex breedings without heavens wish dew) given in June of 2019’s incentive.

This month Samhains spooky magic is breaking through and helping to create some magnificently spooky Quirlicorns. Quirlicorns born or imported under it’s influence may become well, spooky for lack of a better term. Skeletons, Ghosts, Zombies, Goop monsters (because goop can be fun?), Radioactive glows, and any other kind of spooky creature you can think of may interact with your Quirlicorns appearance. Bones may become visible without the use of a Cursed Dew. Transparency of your Quirlicorn may be lowered without the Spectral gene present. Please keep in mind though that while we allow and even encourage creativity with your designs, with this months incentive we ask that you keep your Quirlicorns generally recognizable as the breed.
We’re just about to the season where people make all sorts of delicious foods and put their diets on hold. Quirlicorns are no exception to enjoying some seasonal yummy feasts and packing on a few extra lbs to make it through a cold winter. It seems that this year someone left food out by the Sacred Dew Tree which had a weird effect. Quirlicorns bred or imported during November 2019 may have food inspired designs. Want your Quirlicorn to look like a sushi roll? go for it! How about soda with foamy hair? Maybe jello is more your taste. Whatever type of food (or drink), you’re welcome to incorporate it into your designs this month.
Is it December already? With the winter solstice nearing, magic is increasing in the world of Quirlicorns.
As we all know, Quirlicorns reach peaks in their magic on each solstice, but this winter something unexpected happened! Foals born in the month of December have been found to take on special traits. Tails distorted into a small tuft of fluff, horns now antlers with swirls and curls. The cause of this is still uncertain, but we speculate that the solstice’s magic is at work here, so take advantage of it while you can! All new Quirlicorns bred or imported during June 2018 will have the option of any of their longer hairs to turn into water. With the solstice near, magic will peak this month granting new Quirlicorns with special magic. This months magic grants new Quirlicorns with an endless supply of water magic. This magic is particularly fond of clinging to longer hairs, or even transforming longer hairs completely to liquid form. Does he just look like he got caught in the rain, or is there perhaps a full blown waterfall running from his hair. The choice is up to you. (If you prefer to keep your Quirlicorns from this month dry, you may do that as well since the monthly magics are optional).
Oh oh! Someone wasn’t careful and set off fireworks near the Sacred Dew tree. With magic still lingering in the area from the Solstice, a new magic is born. Fireworks have merged with the lingering magic giving all new Quirlicorns bred or imported during July 2018 the option of displaying these minor firework interactions. Firework powder may be stuck to the Quirlicorns hairs over their entire body. Extreme heat may set them off, giving effects that range from minor sparkles, to larger firework type displays launching from their bodies. Hooves may create sparks when they walk over harder rougher surfaces like stone or asphalt. These Quirlicorns are entirely fire resistant (whew!), set them on fire and let them be the life of the party! … or maybe don’t set them on fire purposely, it doesn’t seem very nice. This incentive may grant Quirlicorns with it Fire Immunity Magic.
We aren’t entirely sure how this happened but it appears as though Quirlicorns bred or Imported this month are taking on coats that look like ice cream or ice pop treats. It is assumed that Quirlicorns raided Ice cream vendors in an attempt to beat the summer heat and perhaps consumed so much yummy frozen goodness that it started manifesting on foals and new imports. Weird that! Coats are completely covered with and resemble any type of ice cream or frozen treat. These Quirlicorns also appear to be extra cold so you may see smoke coming off of them as they hit warmer temperatures in their surroundings.
Butterfly season is in full bloom and it seems to have somehow mingled with the magic of Quirlicorns, creating fantastic creatures with markings from butterflies or moths across their coats. It seems that the butterfly or moth markings interact with mutation genes underneath them, creating stunning and unique coat choices. Quirlicorns influenced by this months incentive may also sprout butterfly or moth wings without wings being part of their region or without having unlocked wings via Chimes yet.

New month, new incentive! This month is a little bit different than we’ve been doing. We’re not entirely sure how or why, but Quirlicorns bred or imported during the month of November may have glass or gemstone bones, horns, and hooves. These may present as transparent like simple glass, or any other type of transparency (or lack thereof) your choice of gemstone would give. Depending on the type of gemstone or glass chosen, these Quirlicorns may have fragile or very sturdy bones (glass is more easily broken, etc).
